Stan Hill, PhD


Dr. Stan Hill is an experienced voice teacher, conductor, and vocal pedagogy specialist with a career spanning elementary, secondary, collegiate, church, and community music programs. After beginning his career as a music educator in junior and senior high schools, he earned both a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and a PhD, with doctoral research focused on laryngeal physiology. His research was published in the Journal of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), of which he is a longtime member.
Dr. Hill served on the voice faculty at California State University, Fullerton, where he taught applied voice, vocal pedagogy, conducting, music theory, and choral ensembles. He also developed curriculum and instructional materials for the study of vocal pedagogy.
A dynamic conductor, arranger, clinician, and vocal diagnostician, Dr. Hill has worked with a wide variety of vocal ensembles, from small groups to large choruses accompanied by symphony orchestras. He has successfully taught singers of all voice types and is dedicated to helping students develop healthy, expressive, and confident singing voices.
